Welcome to Hess Memorial Hospital. Whether you are a patient or visitor at the hospital, we want to make your experience at Hess Memorial a positive one!

General Patient Information

We wish to make your stay as pleasant as possible so that your recovery will as soon as possible!

Registration:

Registration is located in the Main Lobby of the Hospital. When you enter the main entrance the representatives at the information desk will direct you. *Remember to bring your insurance card when you register. The physician’s office will notify you as to the time you should register at the hospital. These times are based upon the specific procedure and tests to be performed and will vary for each visit to the hospital.

What to Bring to the Hospital:

The following items are available through the hospital, but in order to keep hospital costs down, we encourage you to bring your own from home if you are staying overnight:

Ö Kleenex	Ö Slippers
Ö Comb &/or Hairbrush	Ö Toothbrush & Toothpaste

Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Do not wear make-up or lipstick.

For your safety, rings, jewelry and body piercings must be removed prior to surgery.

Please leave money (over $10), credit cards, jewelry and valuables at home.

General Visitor Information

We encourage friends and family to visit patients in the hospital. Family and friends often play an important part of recovery. Check in at the Information Desks for patient room numbers and directions.

Visiting Hours for Hospital and Nursery:

11:00 am - 8:30 pm Monday through Sunday

* Please do not visit if you have the flu or other communicable disease such as chicken pox or measles. Exposure to these and other viruses can pose a great risk to some of our patients who have compromised immune systems.

In addition to the lobby, there is a waiting room available for the use of visitors. For the best possible care, we ask that your family or friends be as quiet as possible and supervise children at all times.

Gift Shop:

There is a small assortment of flowers, balloons, stuffed animals and other items available in the lobby for purchase (ask at the registration desk for help).

Front Desk Hours:

6:00 am - 8:30 pm Monday through Friday

7:00 am - 8:30 pm Saturday and Sunday

Parking:

Free short-term and long-term parking is available for visitors and patients directly in front of the Medical Center.

Dining Room:

There is a dining room with vending machines on the 2nd Floor of the hospital. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Cell Phones:

Cell phone use is only allowed in the lobby and cafeteria area. Use in patient areas is restricted.

Smoking Policy:

Hess Memorial Hospital is a non-smoking facility. Please remember that smoking is not permitted anywhere inside or on the grounds.
